PROCTOVILLE — Fairland Lady Dragons’ coach Jon Buchanan was happy with his offense.

Well, 79 points will do that.

The Lady Dragons had their best offensive effort of the season as they rolled past the Mingo Central Lady Miners 79-38 on Saturday in the Big E Classic.

“Offensively, it was a better team effort. Our defense has been carrying,” said Fairland coach Jon Buchanan. “The only thing is we missed some easy layups. But I was happy with the way the offense flowed.”

Emily Chapman led the offensive onslaught with a game-high 23 points. Allie Marshall scored 14, Alesha Simpson scored 11 and Harlie Lyons had 10 off the bench.

Xziah Rhoades led Mingo (0-1) with 18 points.

Chapman scored eight points in the first quarter as Fairland took a 20-10 lead.

Simpson took over and scored nine in the second quarter as the lead grew to 41-25 at the half.

Fairland (4-0) extended its lead in the third quarter to 58-33 as Chapman knocked down 10 points.

Fairland hosts South Point on Monday.
