Robert Ramey

July 6, 1976 — Dec. 8, 2017

Robert Lee Ramey, 41, of Kitts Hill, passed away peacefully with his family by his side, Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at his residence. Rob was born July 6, 1976, in Ironton, a son to Patricia Legg, of Portsmouth, and Archie Roger (Jane Ann) Ramey, of Ironton.
Rob was a 1995 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He was a truck driver for Pepsi-Cola Company for 22 years. Rob loved to drag race, hunt, fish, go horseback riding and camp at Horse Camp. Rob’s life and whole world was centered around his two children, Gabe and Kylie. He was of the Baptist faith.
He was preceded in death by stepmother, Vera Mae Ramey; half-brother, Dustin Schackart; grandparents, Charles and Joanna Legg and Ernest and Onetia Ramey; and two uncles, Charles Ramey and Charles Legg Jr.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by son, Gabriel Lee Ramey, of Kitts Hill; daughter, Kylie Lee Ramey, of Kitts Hill; brother, Roger (Melissa) Ramey Sr., of South Point; sister, Erica (Leon) Norris, of Louisville, Kentucky; four nephews, Roger Ramey Jr., of Grayson, Kentucky, Bradley Ramey, of South Point, and Paxton Norris and Crosby Norris, both of Louisville, Kentucky; and two nieces, Samantha Ramey, of South Point, and Maebry Norris, of Louisville, Kentucky.
Funeral service for Rob will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Billy Markins officiating. Burial will follow in Sugar Creek Cemetery.

Edith Freeman

Edith M. Freeman, 101, a lifelong resident of South Point, passed away Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at her residence. She was born Aug. 5, 1916, in South Point, a daughter of the late Carl and Shirley Moore McClure.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Freeman; sisters, Mary Ruth McClure and Helen McClure; and brothers, Floyd, Julian and Lee McClure.
Edith was a lifelong member of South Point Baptist Church and was a loving sister and aunt.
Survivors include a brother, Marlin McClure, of South Point; nieces, JoAnn Sinclair, of Columbus, Karen McClure, of Charlotte, North Carolina; and a host of loving friends, including the Branham, Thomas and Craft families.
The family’s deepest appreciation goes to her devoted caregivers, whom allowed Edith to remain in her home, Kim Clayton, Lisa Fradd, Donna Johnson, Geri Roberts and Katie Shoub.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Steen Funeral Home, Ashland, Kentucky, with pastor Lou Ashworth officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Wanda Crager

Wanda Lee Crager, 83, of Chesapeake, died Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. today at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, with pastor Justin Berry officiating. Burial will follow at Rome Cemetery, Proctorville.
