Christmas Story

The Sybene-Chesapeake Senor Center will host Bible study, featuring the story of Christmas. The meeting will be preceded by serving of hot chocolate and donuts, beginning at 9:30 a.m.

The Ironton Board of Health will meet at 5 p.m. in the Ironton City Building.

Lawrence Township Trustees

The Lawrence Township Trustees will meet at 4 p.m. at the Lawrence Township Fire Dept. This is a meeting change from the originally scheduled meeting Dec. 11.

Thursday

Lawrence Lodge 198

Lawrence Lodge 198 will have a special meeting for the election of a secretary at 7 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Masonic Temple.

VFW 6878 Auxiliary

VFW Post 6878 Proctorville Auxiliary will meet at the Post home at 6 p.m. to help load Santa bags.

Children’s Christmas Party

VFW Post 8850 members and auxiliary members will host a children’s Christmas party at 6 p.m. at the post. Santa will be present to give gifts and treats.

Lawrence County Insurance COG

The Lawrence County Insurance COG will meet at 9 a.m. at the Lawrence County Educational Service Center office, 304 N. Second St., Ironton.

Friday

Christmas Dinner

The Sybene-Chesapeake Senior Center will host its annual Christmas dinner at First Baptist Church in Proctorville. Entertainment is at 11 a.m., followed by meal at about noon. Event is open to the public.

Saturday

Christmas Party

Lawrence Lodge 198 and Lawrence County York will have their annual Christmas party and installation of officers on the fourth floor of the Masonic Temple. Installation of officers will start at 5 p.m. Christmas party begins at 6 p.m. The lodge will furnish the meats and drinks. All attending can bring a covered dish.

Breakfast with Santa

The Symmes Valley Band Boosters are hosting Breakfast with Santa from 9 a.m.-noon at the Symmes Valley High School cafeteria. The cost is $5 and includes breakfast with pancakes, sausage and drinks, the opportunity to speak to Santa and get photos, skating in your socks in the Frozen Wonderland with Elsa, Anna and Olaf, games, craft making, vendors and a silent auction.

Boy Scout Christmas Bazaar

Boy Scout Troop 104 is hosting a Christmas Bazaar fundraiser from noon-4 p.m. at Ironton First United Methodist Church, 101 N. Fifth St., Ironton. There will be vendors, crafters, raffles, door prizes and crafts. All are welcome.

Mrs. Claus Reads

Mrs. Claus reading to children at the Ironton City Center. At 6:30, there will be the Small Business Saturday passport drawing for $300, $200 and $125 in Ironton Bucks. After that Mrs. Claus will read. Kids are asked to bring a blanket. Cookies, popcorn, homemade sweet bread and hot chocolate will be served by Friends of Ironton.

Sunday

Christmas Singalong

The final Christmas celebration at the Lawrence County Museum will be a Christmas sing-along at 2 p.m. Sharon Bradshaw will be at the piano. Everyone is welcome to attend and tour the decorated museum and sing carols. Following the event, the museum will be closed for the 2017 season.

Monday

Christmas concert

Kelley’s Bridge will perform a Christmas concert at 6 p.m. at the South Point branch of the Briggs Lawrence Public Library, located 317 Solida Road. Everyone is invited to attend.

Southern Ohio Amateur Radio Association

The Southern Ohio Amateur Radio Association will be 7 p.m. in the rear room of the Lawrence County 911/EMA building, 515 Park Ave., Ironton. VE testing will be at 6 p.m. Walk-ins are welcome. Repeater repairs and other important issues will be discussed and voted on. All hams and interested people are welcome.

The Lawrence County Educational Service Center Governing Board will meet in special session at 2 p.m. at their new location at 304 N. Second St., Ironton.

Ohio Council 92 will have practice in the Royal Master Degree, starting at 7 p.m. on the fourth floor of the Masonic Temple.

Lawrence Lodge 198 will have its regular stated meeting on the fourth floor of the Masonic Temple refreshments at 6 p.m. Work at 7:30 p.m.

Appalachian Family and Children First Council

The Appalachian Family and Children First Council will meet at 9 a.m. in Conference Room B of the Workforce Development Resource Center across from Family Dollar in Ironton.
