Kenneth Barber

April 18, 1928 — Dec. 13, 2017

Kenneth F. Barber, 89, of Ironton, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, Dec. 13, 2017, at his residence. Mr. Barber was born April 18, 1928, in Ironton, a son to the late Elza and Effie Mae (Gibson) Barber.
He was also preceded in death by his wife, Annemarie (Reutter) Barber, who passed away May 1, 2001.
Mr. Barber was a graduate of Ironton High School and was an U.S. Army veteran. He was a retired supervisor for Dow Chemical for 25 years, retiring in 1986. Mr. Barber was a former chairman of the United Way and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ironton. He was an avid painter and woodworking enthusiast. He enjoyed exploring nature, fishing and taking care of his rose garden.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by son, Peter Langer; sister, Florance Douglas; and brother, Don Barber.
He is survived by son, Manfred Langer, of South Point; two daughters, Linda Butler, of Ironton, and Cindy Ransbottom, of Wurtland, Kentucky; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; eight great-great grandchildren, and one on the way.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Carson Hunt officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens, with military graveside rites by VFW Post 8850. Visitation for family and friends will be noon until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Marcella Heid

Marcella Mae Heid, 87, of Kitts Hill, passed away Monday, Dec. 11, 2017, at King’s Daughters Medical Center, Ashland, Kentucky. The Coal Grove native was born Feb. 21, 1930, a daughter of the late Elmer and Yoma Hurst Clark. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Garfield Heid.
Mrs. Heid attended Dawson-Bryant High School and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah Witness Church.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five brothers, James Clark, Leroy Clark, Herschel Clark, Raymond Clark and Estill “Jr” Gayheart; and an infant daughter, Doris Ann Heid.
She is survived by a son, Ralph Garfield (Denise) Heid, of Bourbonnais, Illinois; a daughter, Dianna Mae (Michael) Martin, of Ukiah, California; and two grandsons, Shane Heid and Adam Heid.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with Minister Dan Schomburg officiating. Interment will be in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, at the convenience of the family. Visitation will be 1 p.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home.

Christina Ritchie

Christina Marie Ritchie, 45, of Huntington, West Virginia, died Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017, at Cabell Huntington Hospital, Huntington, West Virginia. She is survived by her husband, Harrison Dale Ritchie Jr.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville. Burial will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Proctorville.
