PEDRO — South Point coach Travis Wise might have wanted to give his team an energy drink after the first quarter, but he settled for a little strategy after halftime.
The Pointers may have struggled in the first half, but they showed some life in the second half as they beat the Rock Hill Redmen 56-46 in an Ohio Valley Conference game on Friday.
“We started a little sluggish. We made an adjustment on defense in the second half that helped,” said Pointers’ coach Travis Wise. “We still need to make more free throws.”
South Point (9-10, 5-8) got 15 points each from Tayshaun Fox and Chance Gunther while Douglas Shaffer hit four 3-pointers and scored 12 points.
Austin Webb had six rebounds, Fox had five assists and three steals and Gunther two assists and four steals.
