PLTW schedules informational meetings

The Project lead the Way STEM education program, through Collins Career Technical Center, has announced a series of informational nights for parents at several Lawrence County school districts.

According to Matt Monteville, the satellite coordinator of the program, meetings will take place at the following dates at 6 p.m.:

• South Point  – Feb. 15

• Dawson-Bryant – March 1

• Ironton – March 8

• Chesapeake –  March 13

• Rock Hill – March 15

• Symmes Valley – March 22

The meeting will give parents and prospective students an overview of the program, which is offered at the home schools beginning in the eighth grade.

PLTW allows students to study in the engineering and biomedical fields and focus on the areas of science, technology, engineering and math.
