Malone, Easterling bowl well at district

CHILLICOTHE — It may not have been winning performances, but they were still pretty impressive.
St. Joseph Female Flyers junior Kelsey Malone and Ironton Fighting Tigers’ sophomore Brayden Easterling bowled in the Division II district bowling tournament at Shawnee Lanes on Saturday and put together strong efforts.
Malone rolled games of 147, 152 and 160 for a 459 series. She was seventh overall among 24 bowlers.
Three of the top seven bowlers qualified for the Logan Elm team making Malone fourth among individuals not on a qualifying team.
The top bowler overall and the individual state qualifier was Gabby McCord of Miami Trace with a 525 series. She had games of 167, 200 and 158.
Easterling also finished seventh overall among 26 bowlers and fifth in the individual standings.
Easterling rolled games of 155, 232 181 for a 568 series.
His 232 game was the highest score among all bowlers in the second game and the sixth highest game overall.
Noah Fenner of Lynchburg-Clay had the top score overall with a 684 total on games of 237, 214 and 233. He qualified for the state on the winning team.
