Charlotte Fields

July 4, 1932 — Feb. 18, 2018

Charlotte Janiece Rader Fields, 85, of Ironton, passed away Sunday, Feb. 18, 2018, at a local health care facility. The Silberton native was born July 4, 1932, a daughter of the late Jesse R. and Violet V. Stewart Rader. She was also preceded in death by her husband,  Robert G. Fields Sr.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, David Wayne Fields; two sisters, Eloise Webb and Vera Martin; a brother, Ray Rader; and a granddaughter, Tera Brumfield.
Mrs. Fields was a graduate of Kitts Hill High School and Ohio University Southern campus. She was a former tutor for the Stars Program at Kingsbury Elementary and Rock Hill Elementary. She was also an employee for Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital in the admitting department and a switchboard operator, retiring in 1974. She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Ironton.
She is survived by four sons, Robert G. (Dianne) Fields Jr., of Las Vegas, Nevada, Steven R. (Jana) Fields, of Ironton, Donald E. (Glynis) Fields, of Ironton, and Raymond F. (Tami) Fields, of Vinton; a daughter, Anne Marie (Rick) Haynes, of Ironton; a sister, Darlene Jessup, of Columbus; a brother, Jack (Shirlene) Rader, of Fairfield; grandchildren, Steven K. (Leanne) Fields, Rob (Betsy) Brumfield, Derek (Mary) Bailey, Brandon (Sasha) Fields, Amanda (John) Leith, Channing Fields, Madison (Jessen) Newbanks, Mike George, Rachel George, Amber (Gary) Cooper and Dana Keirns; 15 great-grandchildren; special sons, Manny Floyd, Damon Butler and John Luddon, all of Las Vegas, Nevada; two friends, Vera Bowman and Carla Brice, both of Ironton; and special nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be noon Tuesday at Sharon Baptist Church, Ironton, with the Rev. Steve Harvey officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery and visitation will be 11:30 a.m. until the time of the service Tuesday at the church.

Larry Bo Messenger, 72, of Ironton, died Friday, Feb. 23, 2018, at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital, Ashland, Kentucky. Arrangements are pending at Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville.
