Carroll DeLong

April 18, 1932 — March 7, 2018

Carroll Otis DeLong, 85, of Russell, Kentucky, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at Life Care Center, Morehead, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born April 18, 1932, the son of the late Pearl and Mabel Everly DeLong.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Lee Warix DeLong, whom he married on May 9, 1959.
Carroll was a graduate of Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia, and studied law in Columbus. He was a United States Navy veteran and a former district manager for Ashland Oil, where he worked for 37 years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Ashland, Kentucky, and also volunteered at Our Lady of Bellefonte Hospital.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughter, Cheryl (Tom) Walker, of Matthews, North Carolina; two sons, Jeffrey C. DeLong, of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and John W. (Tessa) DeLong, of Flatwoods, Kentucky; grandsons, Nicholas Walker, of Naples, Florida, Zachary Walker, of Matthews, North Carolina, Johnny W. DeLong II, of Russell, Kentucky, and Caden V. DeLong, of Flatwoods, Kentucky; great-granddaughter, Elaina W. DeLong, of Russell, Kentucky; brother, Curtis (Pat) DeLong; sister-in-law, Carol (Leonard) Bryant; and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and family.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Don Young officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton. Visitation will be 3-5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Community Hospice of Ashland, Kentucky, Hospice of Morehead, Kentucky, or First United Methodist Church of Ashland. John Gee

John “Mike” Gee, 75, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2018, at Cornerstone Hospital.
The Ironton native was born July 29, 1942, the son of the late Mabel Bundy Gee and Kendith Gee. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Brenda Gee.
Mike attended Coal Grove High School and was a former iron worker for Ironton Iron, where he worked for 20-plus years. He also loved to hunt.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Michael Scott Gee; and a sister, Ruth Keeney.
He is survived by first wife, Rita Gee, of Ironton; daughter, Sherri (Ray) Pack, of Ironton; son, Donald Michael Gee, of Ironton; grandchildren, Cody Gee, Parker Gee and Shelby Pack, all of Ironton; sisters, Lucille Burns, of Ironton, Sharon (Ronnie) Adams, of Ironton, and Vicki Hankins, of Getaway; brother, Don (Charlene) Gee, of Coal Grove; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Inez Thompson

Inez Marie Thompson, 85, of Chesapeake, died Wednesday, March 7, 2018, at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.
She is survived by her husband, Lawrence A. Thompson. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Schneider-Hall Funeral Home, Chesapeake, with minister Paul Drake officiating.
