Boil water advisory issued for some South Point residents
SOUTH POINT — Due to a water line break Monday, the South Point Water Department is advising some residents to vigorously boil, for at least one minute, any water used for drinking, to make ice, for cooking or for oral hygiene.
The advisory is for residents on the following streets; Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, 10th, 11th, Linden, Auburn, Nelson, Park, Center, Margaret, Dean, Keith, Shannon, Washington, High, Alma and Fairview.
The South Point Water Department has no evidence at this time that the water system is contaminated, but the possibility does exist and an advisory was issued as a precaution.
If no further notice is given after Thursday, then the samples are normal and the water is safe.
