Boating education course to be offered

FRANKLIN FURNACE — The Ohio Department of Natural Resources Parks and Watercraft will be offering the Ohio Boating Education Course, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, March 24 at the Scioto County Watercraft Office.
The free, eight-hour course includes Ohio boating laws, safety equipment, accident prevention and operating rules.
The course meets Ohio’s boating education requirements that went into effect on Jan. 1, 2000.
Anyone born after Jan. 1, 1982 is required to show proof of completing an approved boating safety course of proficiency test before operating a boat of more than 10 horsepower.
