Oleta Wise

Sept. 4, 1934 — March 26, 2018

Oleta Fern Wise, 83, of Ironton, passed away Monday, March 26, 2018, at a local health care facility. The Boyd County, Kentucky native was born Sept. 4, 1934, a daughter of the late Lon Maddox and Ethel Royce Hughes.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Harlan Wise, who passed away May 10, 2007.
Fern attended Hanging Rock Schools. She was a homemaker and a former employee of River Valley Health Systems, where she worked in the laundry department for 21 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Donald Ray Hughes, James Hughes, Carl Hughes and Harley Leo Hughes; and a sister, Joan Runyan.
She is survived by six children, Harlan L. (Debra) Wise Jr., Reba Wise, John Harlan (Sarah) Wise, Terrence Wise, Marjory (Michael Dickerson Sr.) Wise and Bobby (Tracey) Wise; 15 grandchildren, Kenny Wise, Lenny Wise, Nathan Wise, Christopher (Brittany) Wise, Jacob Wise, Jonathon Wise, Bayleigh Wise, John Hayden Wise, Maggie Leeann Wise, Damian Wise, Michael Dickerson Jr., Ashley Wise, Harlee Wise, Autumn Wise and Dakota Wise; and several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Funeral  services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Cynthia Wade

Cynthia Henderson Wade, 67, of Proctorville, died Tuesday, March 27, 2018, at home. She is survived by her husband, Larry Wade.

Preston James Kerns, 54, of Chesapeake, died Monday, March 26, 2018, at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, West Virginia. He is survived by his wife, Tammie Haney Kerns.
There will be no services. Hall Funeral Home and Crematory, Proctorville, assisted the family with arrangements.
