Chapman scores 20 as Ohio all-stars beat West Virginia

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Emily Chapman picked up in the postseason where she left off in the regular season.
The Fairland Lady Dragons’ 5-foot-5 senior guard scored 20 points as Ohio outlasted West Virginia 101-91 in the annual Ohio-West Virginia All-Star Game.
Chapman hit four 3-pointers as she scored her team-high total. Alli Kern of Waterford scored 18 points and was voted Ohio’s MVP for the game.
A 3-point shooting contest was also held and Chapman finished second with 16 total points. Bethany Wager of Williamstown had 19 points to win the contest.
In the boys’ game, Ohio outscored West Virginia 114-108. Fairland Dragons’ senior point guard Ty Staten had four points and seven rebounds in the win.
Prior to the girls’ game, the BACF Board of Directors presented $25,000 to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.  The funds were raised from the cumulative efforts of last year’s Basketball Classic, Football Classic, and Basket Bingo.
An estimated crowd of 1,600 attended.
