Flyers use ‘team’ effort in win

The St. Joseph Flyers used their roster in a 24-3 win over the New Boston Tigers on Tuesday.
“We got a lot of kids a lot of playing time,” said Flyers’ coach Greg Bryant. “We have a bunch of freshmen and it was nice to get them some playing time.”
The Flyers had 12 hits as nine different players got hits.
Chase Walters, Trae Crabtree and J.C. Damron all went 2-4 with Walters and Crabtree both had doubles.
St. Joseph scored 10 runs in the first inning as Walters singled and Crabtree doubled to drive in runs.
J.C. Damron had an RBI single to key a five-run second that included four walks.
Max Weber, Ryan Scaife and Izsak Unger got run-scoring singles in the third to make it 19-0.
New Boston got all its runs in the fourth and the Flyers got four more in the bottom of the inning.
The Flyers next game is Friday, April 13, against Sciotoville East.
