Lady Hornets rout Lady Dragons, 12-2

COAL GROVE — This time, Jaidyn Griffith and Addi Dillow took charge.
The duo combined for five hits along with a triple and home run as the Coal Grove Lady Hornets rolled past the Fairland Lady Dragons 12-2 in a five-inning Ohio Valley Conference game on Wednesday.
Coal Grove had 14 hits with Dillow going 3-3 with a triple and Griffith 2-3 with a home run and two runs batted in.
There was plenty of help including Gracie Riley who was 2-4 with two RBI and Delaney Napier 2-3 with a double and three RBI.
Kasey Murphy picked up the win as she struck out seven, gave up five hits and did not walk a batter.
Adrianna Hoffman, McKenzie Roberts, Emily Bowen, Libby Judge and Montana Runnels all had hits for Fairland. Judge had a double and RBI.
Coal Grove led 3-0 after the first inning. Fairland got a run in the second but Coal Grove scored four in the second and one in the third to go up 8-1.
The teams meet at Fairland on Friday.
