Lady Flyers rout Lady Rebels, 15-2

FORT GAY, W.Va. — The St. Joseph Lady Flyers made the most of what they got.
The Lady Flyers had only five hits but they bunched them together with walks, a couple of errors and two sacrifice flies to rout the Tolsia Lady Rebels 15-2 in three innings on Friday.
West Virginia has a 10-run rule after three innings.
Kelsey Malone and Ashley Bartram each went 1-1 with a double, Ellie Cremeans and Kaitlyn Sheridan were each 1-2 with a double and Emma Whaley was 1-2 with an RBI.
Malone picked up the win as she struck out three, walked one and gave up just two hits.
St. Joseph took command of the game in the first inning with a 10-run rally.
The first eight batters walked to start the game. A new pitcher hit the next batted as six runners were forced across the plate.
Malone then laced a two-run double to left-center, and Alex Holtzapfel and Bartram each hit a sacrifice fly to cap the rally.
Tolsia got an unearned run in the bottom of the inning, but the Lady Flyers scored four runs in the second.
Sheridan doubled and Whaley singled her home. Emilee Blankenship and Malone both walked, Holtzapfel grounded out to drive in Whaley and Bartram doubled in two more runs.
The final Lady Flyers’ run scored in the third inning when Sheridan reached on an error and Cremeans doubled.
