AID — One good game, one bad.
The Symmes Valley Lady Vikings beat the Western Lady Indians 9-1 in a Southern Ohio Conference game on Monday but lost 10-0 in six innings to the Chesapeake Lady Panthers on Tuesday.
On Monday, Taylor Webb went 2-2 with two home runs and three runs batted in to lead the win. Sarah Kingery got the win as she struck out six and walked only one.
The Lady Vikings took 1-0 lead in the first on a home run by Webb.
Symmes Valley took a 3-1 lead in the third when Kingery walked, Webb was hit by pitch and Kara Saunders and Ericca Ross had RBI singles.
The lead went to 6-1 in the fourth.
Payton Hunter doubled, Rachael Hayes singled her home and Webb belted a two-run homer.
In the sixth, Webb, Saunders and Ross all walked, Emily Estep had a two-run single and Kelsey Gothard then singled home the final run.
Saunders went 3-4, Ross 2-3 and Gothard 2-4 as Symmes Valley had 13 hits.
Chesapeake took charge on Tuesday as Erika Bowman pitched a three-hitter, struck out 10 and did not walk a batter.
Chesapeake scored four runs in the first inning.
Ashley Tackett singled, Katy Spears was hit by a pitch and Brooke Webb had an RBI single. Ryleigh Swann doubled for two runs and Jordan Storms singled for a run.
The lead went to 5-0 in the second as Tackett walked, stole second and scored when Webb reached on an error.
The Lady Panthers made it 7-0 in the fifth.
Chloe Handley singled, Zowie Rollins put down a sacrifice, Rachel Pratt reached on an error and Spears was safe on an error. Webb was safe on a fielder’s choice as a run scored.
The final three runs scored in the sixth.
Lyric Bair singled, Storms was safe on an error, Handley had an RBI single, Rollins reached on an error and Pratt doubled home two runs.
Handley went 3-4 as Chesapeake had nine hits.
