COAL GROVE — Kasey Murphy had another one of those duel performance games.
Murphy pitched a two-hit shutout and went 3-4 at the plate with a home run and a double as the Coal Grove Lady Hornets beat the Chesapeake Lady Panthers 10-0 in six innings on Monday in an Ohio Valley Conference game.
Murphy struck out eight and walked only one in getting the win.
Murphy hit a three-run homer in the first inning Jaidan Griffith also homered in the first.
Coal Grove had nine hits with Griffith going 2-3 with three runs batted in while Lauren Crum was 2-4 with a double and an RBI. Murphy drove in four runs.
Ashley Tackett and Zowie Rollins both went 1-2 to account for the limited Lady Panthers’ offense.
The Lady Panthers had six errors that led to five unearned runs.
