Phyllis Doughman

June 6, 1954 — May 1, 2018

Phyllis Ann Doughman, 63, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky. The Ironton native was born June 6, 1954, the daughter of the late Jonas Joseph Doughman and Norma Jean Morris Doughman.
Phyllis was a 1974 graduate of Ironton High School and attended the Ashland Business College. She was a former employee of Lawrence County General Hospital, Chapman Drug and Company and Hill’s Department Store, all in Ironton. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Ironton, where she was an active member of the WPA Class and Sunday school, and she was very active in all social activities of the church.
In addition to her parents, Phyllis was preceded in death by aunts, Naomi Lee (Earl) Clark, Betty Lou Morris and Hilda Faye Morris; and uncles, David (Wanda) Morris, Robert Morris and Norman Hardy.
Phyllis is survived by aunts, Evelyn Hardy, of Kitts Hill, Mary (Donald) Betts, of Willow Wood, and Geraldine (Charles) Walters, of Ironton; uncles, Bill (Carla) Morris, of Kitts Hill, Glendon (Janice) Morris, of Assaria, Kansas.
She is also survived by special cousins, Tyler William Walters, of Ironton, Bryce Alan Walters, of Ironton, and Stacey Walters Reese, of Westerville; many other cousins; and two special friends, Virginia Smith and Jo Ellen Chapman, both of Ironton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Fridayat the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery beside her mother. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbears will be Tyler Walters, Chase Walters, Bryce Walters, Michael Reese, Eric Morris, Chad Morris and Carter Reese.
