WELLSTON — All the scoring came in just two separate innings. Unfortunately for the Rock Hill Redwomen, there wasn’t enough in their scoring inning.
The Redwomen scored early but the Wellston Lady Golden Rockets got all five of their runs an inning later and notched a 5-2 win in the Division III sectional tournament on Tuesday.
Rock Hill took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a walk to Kylee Howard and a two-run homer by Maddie Harper.
Wellston (10-11) came back to score all five of its runs in the second.
Erica Scott doubled, Mya Bouska put down a sacrifice and Braley Rainer singled in the run. Kaylee Taynor doubled, Molly Smith singled and Emily Kisor hit a three-run homer.
Howard took the loss as she struck out one and did not walk a batter.
Compston got the win as she struck out six and walked two.
