Leo Boggs

Aug. 27, 1963 — 2018

“WE ARE CONFIDENT, I SAY, AND WILLING RATHER TO BE ABSENT FROM THE BODY, AND TO BE PRESENT WITH THE LORD” 2 COR 5:8. Leo had this promise, because prior to his cerebral hemorrhage, he made peace with God and told his mother that he now knew he would go to heaven when he dies. He also recently started attending Bible studies.
Leo Franklin Boggs was born Aug. 27, 1963, to Delores White Bryant and the late Paul Boggs. He was preceded in death by his stepfather, Freddie Bryant Jr., who raised him; his maternal grandparents, Oliver “Pete” and Marjorie White; paternal grandparents, Paul and Beck Morrison; paternal step-grandparents, Fred Sr. and Mildred Bryant; and a stepbrother, Monte Bryant.
Leo graduated from Dawson-Bryant High School in 1981. He was previously employed at that same school district until he became disabled. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved horseback riding. He participated in the Memorial Day Parade for many years, riding his horse.
In addition to his aforementioned mother, he is survived by a son, Jonlee Boggs; as well as two daughters, Deanna and Jimi Jo; grandchildren, Jonas, Darrien, Judith and Kayden; two former wives, Sherry Nance and Debra Boggs; brothers, Doug (Tina) Lautner and Les Boggs; sisters, Dee Dee (Tawne) Cottrill, Lisa Browning and Leota (John) Workman; many nieces and nephews; and a good friend since high school, Bill Pennington.
Per Leo’s wishes, he will be cremated and a graveside service to follow at a later date. He will be missed until we meet again by the River of Life to worship our Savior together. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
