STEM+M school to host chemistry camp next week

Event is open to all from grades six and up

SOUTH POINT — A one-week summer chemistry camp is set to kick off at the Tri-State STEM+M Early College High School on Monday.

The week’s event, offered while classes are out, is open to grades six and up, and will run through Friday.

The week will give students a chance to learn through hands on experiments in the  school’s labs.

According to a news release, “fire and explosions are a strong possibility, molten salt and water are a guarantee and we might even make liquid oxygen from thin air.”

Offered by West Virginia Science Adventures and part of a partnership with Marshall University, the cost of the camp is $270, though scholarships are  available.
