Light agenda at Ironton City Council tonight

The Ironton City Council will have only a single item on the agenda at tonight’s meeting.
It is an ordinance about fixing the clarifier launder at the city’s water treatment plant.
The council will consider a $114,300 bid made by AFI Sheet Metal, LLC of Huntington, West Virginia.
A clarifier is used to remove solid material from the water being treated. The solids settle to the bottom of the tank as sludge that is removed and disposed of. The launder is a channel around the treatment tank.
This project is due to a violation letter sent to the city from the Ohio EPA.
The council’s strategic planning committee will meet at 5 p.m. to discuss a proposed city survey about how the taxpayers would support when it comes to raising more revenue for the city budget. Among the option being discussed are raising water fees or raising city piggyback tax.
The council will meet in regular session at 6 p.m. All the meetings are held in council chambers on the third floor of the Ironton City Center.
