CINCINNATI — Tom Browning has several baseball anniversaries in his career.
One of those anniversaries that may not be as important but is certainly memorable came 25 years ago this Saturday.
Browning’s famous “Rooftop Visit” came on July 7, 1993, when the Reds were playing the Cubs at Wrigley Field in Chicago when the lefthanded pitcher — in full uniform — went across the street during the game and sat on the rooftop of a building with Cubs’ fans for one-half inning.
The Reds’ Hall of Fame and Museum are offering fans a chance to revisit Browning’s iconic rooftop visit.
An event sponsored by Dinsmore will feature Browning himself hanging out on the rooftop. Fans can purchase tickets for $175 and the cost includes food, drinks and an autographed commemorative print as well as the opportunity to hang out with Browning.
Fans are responsible for hotel and transportation.
Interested persons should call the Hall of Fame box office at (513) 765-7923 to reserve their spot. Space is limited.
