Benjamin Young

Aug. 21, 1944 — July 10, 2018

Benjamin H. Young, 73, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. The Willow Wood native was born Aug. 21, 1944, a son of the late Benjamin H. and Opal G. Callicoat Young. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Barbara S. Haney Young, whom he married June 4, 1965.
Mr. Young attended Waterloo High School and was a former employee of Wolohan Lumber Company in Ironton for 35 years. He was a member of the Ironton Elks, Knights of Columbus and the Ironton Masonic Loge.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters; and one brother.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Benjamin H. (Molly) Young Jr., of Ironton; a daughter, Bonita (Dale) Young Cohenour, of Ironton; five grandchildren, T.J. (Jenna) Young, Trey Young, Karly Young, Crystal Cohenour, and Jeremy Cohenour, all of Ironton; and a sister, Rita Gail Boggs, of Ironton.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with Father David Huffman officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, and visitation will be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be T.J. Young, Trey Young, Gavin Jenkins, Jeremy Cohenour, Gary Creger Jr. and Matthew Matney. Jack Boggs

July 26, 1932 — July 6, 2018

Jack J. Boggs, 85, of Ironton, passed away Friday, July 6, 2018, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. The Ashland, Kentucky, native was born July 26, 1932, the son of the late Osha Boggs and Mamie C. Smith Boggs. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Betty J. Callahan Boggs, whom he married on Oct. 17, 1950.
Mr. Boggs was a graduate of Coal Grove High School and a former supervisor for Ford Brothers Trucking Company, where he retired in 1966 after 16 years of service. Jack was also a former deputy for the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, John P. Boggs Sr. and Charles E. Boggs.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Jack Boggs, of Palm Coast, Florida, Paul K. Boggs, of Ironton, and Jerry Lee Boggs, of Merritt Island, Florida.
