RH Senior League splits opening games at Central Regional

PERU, Ill. — The first game tasted sweet. The second game was tough to swallow.
The Rock Hill Senior League All-Stars won their first game at the Central Regional Tournament on Saturday only to suffer a tough loss in the second game.
Rock Hill — listed as the Ohio — was scheduled to play Sunday, weather permitting.
Dakota Dodds pitched a two-hitter as Rock Hill beat Burbank, Illinois, 4-0 on Saturday in the first game of the tournament.
Nick Blankenship pitched a hitless seventh inning.
Brayden Friend doubled and had two singles to lead the Rock Hill offense. Hayden Harper, Caleb Dillon and Blankenship all had a single.
Jeff Sieja gave ups three runs on five hits in four innings and took the loss.
Noah Kean and Adrian Briones had singles for Illinois.
In the second game on Saturday, Kentucky edged Rock Hill 8-6.
Brayden Friend started for Rock Hill and allowed two runs on three hits. Blankenship and Owen Hankins worked in relief and allowed six runs on eight hits with Hankins getting the loss.
Hankins led the offense with a double and two singles. Friend had two singles.
Timothy Thompson got the win for Kentucky in relief as he gave up just two hits and struck out two.
Braden Puckett started and gave up six runs on six hits.
D’Marko Foster tripled, Brady Snyder doubled while Lance Cruse and Thompson had two singles each.
