OGLESBY, Illinois — To error is human, but this was just inhumane.
The Rock Hill Senior League All-Stars gave up only one earned but they were guilty of 10 errors and two balks as they lost 7-6 to Wabash Senior League of Indiana in 10 innings.
The offense started hot in the bottom of the first inning.
Jordan Griffith led off the game with a walk and stole second. Nick Blankenship put down a sacrifice bunt that was thrown away as Griffith scored.
Brayden Friend then singled in Blankenship. Friend came around to score when Dakota Dodds grounded out.
Rock Hill then scored three more runs in the second inning.
Caleb Dillon singled and Jacob Schwab and Evan Cremeans walked to load the bases.
Griffith delivered a two-run single and Blankenship singled to drive in Griffith.
Unfortunately, the offense came to a halt.
Indiana scored three unearned runs in the top of the fourth with the aid of four errors and added two more runs in the fifth thanks to another error.
Indiana tied the game seventh on a two-out doubled by Jonah Truman.
Neither team scored in the eighth and ninth innings, but Indiana got the winning run in the top of the 10th on a double by Tristin Hayslett and a single by Jarrett Craft.
Rock Hill played Grand Rapids, Michigan, at 1 p.m. on Monday.
