Many helped make ice cream festival a success

On behalf of the congregation of Chesapeake United Methodist Church, I wish to offer a heartfelt “Thank You” to all of the community partners who joined together with us to help make our 14th Annual Ice Cream Festival Street Party a wonderful success.

Our mission each year in this street party is offering free summer fun and entertainment, along with a free meal, featuring our very own homemade ice cream.

Particularly, I want to thank Kenova Baptist Church for furnishing inflatable attractions and the Pastors for the Master band for sharing their music.

Our door prize donors this year were: Advance Auto Parts, Chesapeake Community Center, CVS of Chesapeake, Dairy Bell, Fantastic Sams, The Flower Shop, Tres Hermanos Nunez, and Walmart.

I wish to also thank Kroger for donating money for food, Mr. Matt Fulks for the street platform, and the Chesapeake Community Center for the sound system. With so many generous partners, the party couldn’t help being a success, no matter what type of weather we face.

And, of course, I want to thank each and every neighbor who came out on a stormy July evening for good food and fellowship. We couldn’t count it a success without you!
