ODOT announces county road projects
Resurfacing on U.S. 52 continues
The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced road construction work for Lawrence County.
The traffic advisory includes road construction and major maintenance projects requiring long-term lane restrictions and/or closures along the state and federal highway system.
Among the locations are:
• Ohio 217 has been closed at its junction with Deering Bald Knob Road for a bridge replacement project. The project site is located two miles east of Ohio 141, and Deering Bald Knob Road is closed as well. Thru-traffic motorists will be detoured via Ohio 141 and Ohio 378, and a local detoured will be maintained via Dog Fork Road. The project is scheduled to be completed by late summer.
• Ohio 522 is closed between Ohio 650 and Wagner Bridge-Empire Road for a bridge replacement project. The closure will be in effect for approximately 45 days, and while the route is closed, motorists will be detoured via Ohio 650 and Ohio 93. All work is anticipated to be completed in mid-summer.
• U.S. 52 is subject to single-lane restrictions through the village of Hanging Rock, between the Ohio Furnace Road interchange and Rock Avenue, for a resurfacing project. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in a minimum of one lane in each direction, and variable speed limit will be in effect. The project is scheduled to be completed in late summer.
• As part of a districtwide chip-seal project, restrictions will be in effect on Ohio 218, between Ohio 217 and the Gallia County line, for paving operations. Throughout construction, traffic will be maintained in one lane by flaggers, temporary signals and/or arrow boards when crews are at work. The project is scheduled to be completed in mid-summer.
