HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – Marshall Athletics formally announced on Tuesday that four events, catering to Thundering Herd fans, are on the docket over the course of the next month.
The annual Fan Day will be Sunday, Aug. 5, from 1-3:15 p.m. on the turf at Joan C. Edwards Stadium. Admission is free and, this year, those looking to attend must enter the stadium through the HerdZone Stadium Store on the west side of the stadium.
Marshall Athletics Ticket Office representatives and Big Green Scholarship Foundation staff members will be on hand to answer any questions fans might have regarding tickets and memberships.
In addition, all members of the football team will be available for pictures and autographs following the team photo.
Fans will be invited onto the field after individual photos are taken. Schedule posters and cards will be available to fans.
On Friday, Aug. 10, Marshall Athletics will hold its Big Green, Season Ticket-Holder Appreciation Night, where fans who have already purchased 2018 season tickets may pick them up at that time.
All Marshall students (with a valid ID), Big Green members and season ticket-holders will gain access to a Marshall Football practice at 4:30 p.m. via Gate A on the west side of the stadium.
Following the practice, the team will have a special cookout at approximately 6:30 p.m. for those in attendance who have RSVPed to the event by Friday, Aug. 3, at 4 p.m. ET.
You may RSVP at this https://marshallathletics.wufoo.com/forms/wjs2t0s1muzys5/. At the cookout, fans will enjoy complimentary food and soft drinks and an autograph session with players.
Season ticket-holders wishing to pick up their season tickets may do so at this event. Those who do not attend will have their tickets mailed on Monday, August 13.
On Wednesday, August 15, Marshall University will hold a picnic for all incoming Marshall University freshmen at 5:30 p.m. on the west side of Joan C. Edwards Stadium as part of the school’s Week of Welcome (WOW).
At approximately 8:30 p.m., “We Are Marshall” will be shown on the stadium’s videoboards. The general public is also invited to this event and may access the stadium through Gate A on the west side of the stadium, starting at 8 p.m.
On Thursday, August 16, the fifth Pullman Square Marshall Pep Rally will be held from 6-9 p.m., featuring the Thundering Herd during the event’s final hour.
Attendees will hear from a handful of Marshall head coaches, including Marshall head coach Doc Holliday and several student-athletes.
This event is free of charge and a part of the Pullman Square Concert Series.
