Sylvia Hobstetter

Oct. 21, 1925 — July 26, 2018

Sylvia “Penny” Marie Hobstetter, 92, of Lexington, Kentucky, formerly of Ironton, passed away Thursday, July 26, 2018, at St. Joseph East Medical Center, Lexington, Kentucky. Mrs. Hobstetter was born Oct. 21, 1925, in Ironton, a daughter to the late Clarence and Ruth Lillian Wagner Frecka. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lauren R. Hobstetter, who passed away April 29, 1997.
Mrs. Hobstetter was a homemaker. She was a member of the VFW Post 8850 Ladies Auxiliary and the Lawrence County General Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Ironton.
She is survived by son, Michael R. (Nancy) Hobstetter, of Cape Coral, Florida; granddaughter, Kimberly A. (Jamie) Vono, of Lexington, Kentucky; grandson, Kevin M. (Doliza), of Cape Coral, Florida; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Woodland Cemetery, Ironton, with the Rev. Eric Barnes officiating. Visitation for friends and family will be 1-1:45 p.m. Monday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton. Scott Hogan

Scott J. Hogan, 48, of Sylvania, formerly of Ironton, passed away on Thursday, July 19, 2018. He was a graduate of Rock Hill High School and then furthered his education at Shawnee State University. By attending Shawnee State University, it led to Scott’s biggest accomplishment, becoming the president of Diamond Electric.
Scott was preceded in death by his father, John S. Hogan.
He is survived by his mother, Rheta (Large) Hogan; a son, Mason Hogan; a daughter, Haleigh Hogan; a sister, Elizabeth (James) Reed; a niece, Melia Hogan; a nephew, Bryce Hogan; a special aunt, Lynn Hogan Patterson; a very special great-nephew, Dayzon “Sweet Pea” Hogan; his girlfriend, Jennifer Miller; and so many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who he loved dearly.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Phillips Funeral Home, Ironton, with the Rev. Denny Hankins officiating. Visitation will also be 11 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. To offer condolences to the family, please visit www.phillipsfuneralhome.net.
