PINE GROVE — The Fairland Dragons got into the swing of things quickly.
The Dragons began the golf season by winning the Ironton Invitational by 21 strokes.
Led by medalist Clayton Thomas with a 74, the Dragons posted a 339 score with the Coal Grove Hornets runners-up at 360.
Mason Manns shot an 85 to make the all-tournament team while Mikhail Auxier had an 88 and Addi Speed 92 to complete the team scoring.
Coal Grove’s Jed Whitworth carded a 77 to make the all-tournament team. Jakes Sites shot a 90, Brayden Dillow 94 and Trevor Carey 99.
Also on the all-tournament team were Portsmouth’s William Sturgill with a 75 and Chesapeake’s Jacob Lemley shot a 79.
Host Ironton was led by Brayden Easterling with an 88. Drey Osborne shots a 103 and Logan Price 127 as Ironton did not have a team score.
St. Joseph Flyers shot a 462 with Ryan Payne getting a 104 to lead the Flyers. Connor Waller had a 114, Max Weber 119 and J.C. Damron 125.
Besides Lemley, Chesapeake got a 92 from Brandon Blair and a 99 from Austin Jackson as they had no team score.
Chesapeake’s B-team had a 413 with Christian Hall shooting a 101, Bryce Simpson and Jackson Stephens 103, and Ethan Taylor 106.
Rock Hill did not have a team score. Cameron Donahue shot a 134 and Kelsey Olderham a 138 for the Redmen.
South Point shot 458 as a team led by Ben Wills with a 98. Brayden Sexton had a 106, Lucy Gannon 121 and Wyatt Thacker 133.
