William Morgan
Jan. 4, 1943 — Aug. 7, 2018

William P. Morgan, 75, of Coal Grove, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018, at his residence.
Mr. Morgan was born Jan. 4, 1943, a son of the late William and Mary Elizabeth (Galvin) Morgan. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Dutey Morgan, whom he married Dec. 30, 1961.
Mr. Morgan was a 1961 graduate of Ironton High School. He received his Bachelor’s Degree from Rio Grande College and his Master’s Degree from Morehead State University. He was a former teacher, guidance counselor, principal, and coach for Dawson-Bryant Local Schools, retiring after 31 years in 1994. Mr. Morgan loved his annual fishing trip to Canada with his cronies. He was the operator of Morgan and Son Signs for many years. He attended Zoar Baptist Church in Coal Grove.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Darren (Jennifer) Morgan, of Olmsted Township; two daughters, Denise (John) Turner and Kari (Chris) Wilson, both of Ironton; eight grandchildren, Courtney Wilson-Barnett, Morgan Turner, Christian Wilson, John Turner, Jr., Galvin Morgan, Kamryn Wilson, Madison Morgan and Avery Turner; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael (Suzi) Morgan, of Ironton; and
a sister, Deborah (Ross Daugherty) McCabe, of Lenoir City, Tennessee.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Friday at Zoar Baptist Church, Coal Grove, with Rev. Jim Beals and Dr. Kevin Willis officiating. Burial will follow in Zoar Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday evening, from 6 -8 p.m. at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. 6th St., Ironton, and Friday from 10 a.m. until time of the service at the church.

John Compliment
Feb. 13, 1947 — Aug. 7, 2018

John Compliment, 71, of Coal Grove, passed away Tuesday Aug. 7, 2018 at his residence. The Ironton native was born Feb. 13, 1947, a son of the late Paul Edward and Ruth Kanter Compliment.
Mr. Compliment was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and received a degree in Architectural Engineering at Tthe Ohio State University. John worked until his passing as an architect for Reidel-Wilks in Huntington, West Virginia. He spent many years restoring the family home that is the oldest house in Coal Grove.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Daniel J. Compliment.
He is survived by a brother, William L. (Sharon) Compliment, of Tiffin; three nephews, William P. (Jennifer) Compliment, Michael J. (Beth) Compliment, all of Tiffin, and Robert C. (Beatrice) Compliment, of Blanchester; two nieces, Janet K. (Eric) Traxler, of Beavercreek; and Carol Anne (Sean) Hunt, of Russell, Kentucky;
a sister-in-law, Tonya Compliment; and many great nieces and nephews.
There will be a private graveside held at the convenience of the family. Phillips Funeral Home, 1004 S. 7th Street, Ironton, is assisting the family with the arrangements.

Vernon Maynard
Sept. 4, 1951 — Aug. 7, 2018

James “Vernon” Maynard, 66, of Ironton, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2018 at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.
The Pike County, Kentucky native was born Sept. 4, 1951, a son of the late James R. and Avanelle Taylor Maynard.
Vernon was a 1969 graduate of Dawson-Bryant High School and a former employee for AK Steel, retiring in 2005 after 35 years of service. He was also a member of the Mason Lodge #198.
He is survived by three brothers, John (Angie) Maynard, Steven (Terri) Maynard, and David Maynard, all of Ironton; two sisters, Jami (Bill) Osborne, of Ironton, and Lisa Winland, of Grove City.

Martha Murphy
Mother Martha Murphy (Carter), 87, of Ironton, died in her Columbus home, on Aug. 7, 2018. A celebration of life is scheduled for Monday at 1 p.m. at Triedstone Baptist Church.
