4-Hers compete at state fair

Lawrence County 4-H Youth, who received first place during the Lawrence County Fair 4-H project judging in July, had the opportunity to showcase their projects and represent the county during The Ohio State Fair this month.

Competing were James Wyatt Besco, with My Favorite Things; Nate Elli, with Shooting Sports, Rifle; Caitlyn Johnson, with Alcohol and Drug Abuse; and Ericca Wall, with Club Leadership, Canning and Freezing.

Allison Rogers also won an outstanding ribbon for her scrapbooking project. The ribbons are awarded to the top 20 percent of 4-H members judged in each project.

“Lawrence County 4-H is extremely proud of our youth who competed at The Ohio State Fair,” Paige Matney, of the OSU Extension Office, said.
