Hornets rally past Valley

LUCASVILLE — Now that’s a comeback.
Down 20-0 in the second quarter, the Coal Grove Hornets cut the deficit to 20-14 at the half and then rallied in the final five minutes to win 21-20 in a non-league game on Friday.
Gabe Streeter ran for a touchdown just 8;09 left in the first quarter and it was 6-0 Valley.
Streeter added an 8-yard touchdown run and Andrew Shope added the conversion run for a 14-0 lead.
Streeter’s 32-yard run set up a 14-yard scoring pass from Shope to Tyler Mitcher and it was 20- with 7:40 left in the half.
Coal Grove began to rally as Nate Harmon completed a 12-yard fourth down pass to keep a drive alive and then hit Aaron Music with an 8-yard touchdown pass. Harmon ran for the conversion and it was 20-8.
Harmon also ran for a touchdown just before the half and it was 20-14.
The Hornets went on a 71-yard drive in the fourth quarter the ended on a touchdown run by Kyle Sites with 5:32 to play. Evan Holmes kicked the deciding extra point..
