Man struck in torso

WILLOW WOOD — The Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a domestic violence situation that has left one man shot.

The Sheriff’s Office received a call at 6:50 a.m. on Sunday regarding a shooting at 16988 State Route 141.

The residence is occupied by Jackie Wilson, 64, and his son, Stephen Wilson, 36.

Jackie Wilson told deputies that he and his son had been in an argument and he went into his bedroom and locked the door.

Jackie Wilson said that Stephen Wilson tried to get into the bedroom and he shot his son through a bedroom door with a shotgun. The pellets from the shot struck Stephen Wilson in the upper torso.

The Lawrence County EMS arrived on the scene and summoned a helicopter to life flight Stephen Wilson to Cabell Huntington Hospital for his injuries.

Detectives conducted interviews and processed the scene leading to the arrest of Jackie Wilson on one count of felonious assault.

Jackie Wilson is being housed in the Lawrence County jail and was arraigned at 9 a.m. on Tuesday in the Lawrence County Municipal Court.
