Michael Hobstetter

May 31, 1947 — Aug. 31, 2018

Michael Ray Hobstetter, 71, of Cape Coral, Florida, passed away on Friday, Aug. 31, 2018 in Lexington, Kentucky.
Mr. Hobstetter was born on May 31, 1947 in Ashland, Kentucky, a son of the late Lauren Ray and Sylvia (Penny) Marie Hobstetter.
Mr. Hobstetter graduated from Ironton High School and received his B.S. in accounting from Marshall University. On July 22, 1967, he married the love of his life, Nancy McClure Mayo, of Ashland.
He was a business owner in Ashland for many years and in 2011, he retired from Genworth Financial’s long-term care division. He was also general manager for several coal companies. He was an avid golfer, a former member of Bellefonte Country Club and a current member of Spring Valley Country Club and Coral Oaks Country Club. He also enjoyed his sponsorship with the American Junior Golf Association.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Mayo Hobstetter, of Cape Coral, Florida; a son, Kevin (Liza) M. Hobstetter, of Cape Coral, Florida; a daughter, Kimberly (Jamie) H. Vono, of Lexington, Kentucky; five grandchildren, one great-grandchild, one aunt and several other members of the Barnes and Hobstetter families.
Graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Woodland Cemetery, 824 Lorain St., Ironton, with pastor Eric Barnes officiating. Visitation will be noon-1:45 p.m. at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, 518 S. 6th St., Ironton.
