Dewey McGlone Jr.

Sept. 15, 1977 — Sept. 7, 2018

Dewey Alva McGlone Jr., 40, of Waterloo, passed away Friday, Sept. 7, 2018, at his residence. The Ironton native was born Sept. 15, 1977, a son to Dewey McGlone Sr. and the late Charlotte (Sturgill) McGlone, who passed away in May 2016.
Dewey was a 1955 graduate of Rock Hill High School. He went on to work as a laborer and logger.
In addition to his father, Dewey is survived by a daughter, Kathryn E. McGlone, of Ashland, Kentucky; a son, Liam McGlone, of Ashland, Kentucky; a sister, Parthena (Jonathan) Sexton, of Proctorville; a nephew and niece, Taylor and Hailie Sexton, of Proctorville; and a special cousin, Samantha (Scott) Blocker, of Winter Haven, Florida.

Willis Ray Childers Jr., 50, of South Point, died peacefully at home on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2018. He was born Sept. 18, 1967, the son of Sharon Childers (David) Reffitt and the late Willis Childers Sr.
In addition to his mother, survivors include six children, Josh, Jeremy and Megan, of Proctorville, Levi, of Huntington, West Virginia, and Willie and Cole, of Coal Grove; a twin sister, Sheila (Ray) Collins; a brother, Wes (Julie) Childers; and a host of nieces and nephews.
A visitation with a Celebration of Life will be noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Slack and Wallace Funeral Home, South Point, followed by a reception in the banquet room of the funeral home.
