Flyers blank Greenup County, 8-0

LLOYD, Ky. — As a catcher in baseball, Jimmy Mahlmeister has caught some shutouts. He caught another one on Tuesday only this time it was in soccer.
The St. Joseph goalkeeper got the shutout with seven saves as the Flyers blanked the Greenup County Musketeers 8-0.
St. Joseph (4-1-1) had 40 shots with 19 on goal. Greenup had just nine shots with seven on goal.
After a hat trick last week, Isaac Whaley racked up four goals to lead the Flyers while Zac Roach posted his own hat trick. Michael Mahlmeister scored the Flyers’ other goal.
Ryan Payne and two assists with Jackson Rowe, Matthew Sheridan and Hayden Wilcoxon each getting an assist.
The Flyers had 10 fouls and six corner kicks. Greenup County had four corner kicks, one offside penalty and seven fouls.
St. Joseph hosts Fairland on Wednesday.
