It all came down to the final match.
The Ironton Lady Fighting Tigers and Portsmouth Lady Trojans tennis teams were tied 2-2.
The match came down to the final singles set with Portsmouth edging out the win.
Ironton also lost its other two singles sets, but the No. 1 doubles team of Sophie Caines and Jayci Johnson won as did the No. 2 team of Holly Dutey and Maggie Hackworth.
The win by the No. 2 doubles team was the first varsity win for Hackworth.
Ironton will host Minford at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
