Isaac Whaley and Zach Roach are quite a tandem in basketball. They’re pretty good in soccer, too.
St. Joseph’s version of the Dynamic Duo accounted for one goal and accounted for three assists as the Flyers beat the Lucasville Valley Indians 4-1 on Thursday.
Jackson Rowe, J.C. Damron, Whaley and Roach all scored goals for the Flyers with Whaley added two assists and Roach another.
Valley’s only score was an own goal on the Flyers’ defense.
St. Joseph goalkeeper Jimmy Mahlmeister had a strong game with 14 saves. Valley’s Trevon Donini finished with 10 saves.
The Flyers (5-1-1) had 24 shots with 14 on goal, seven fouls and three corner kicks.
The Indians had 20 shots with 14 on goal, three corner kicks, two offside penalties and nine fouls.
St. Joseph visits Portsmouth Clay on Tuesday.
