Robert Malone

Dec. 9, 1942 — Sept. 17, 2018

Robert Lee Malone, 75, of Ironton, passed away Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at Community Hospice Care Center, Ashland, Kentucky. Mr. Malone was born Dec. 9, 1942, in Ironton, a son to the late Malcolm Eugene and Rose Marie (Webb) Malone. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Anita Childres Malone, whom he married July 23, 1960.
Mr. Malone attended South Point High School and was a Navy veteran. He was an oven operator for Cement Solvey and Allied Chemical. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman, where he won first place achievement in Kentucky State Black Powder Marksmanship. He was Gun Smithing Certified, and held a Certificate of Achievement as a Division of Wildlife instructor for over 20 years. He was a member of the National Rife Association of America, as well as a member of Solida Baptist Church. He was a western movie and TV show enthusiast, and loved to read and go to church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Billie Malone.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Timothy Malone, of Meadville, Pennsylvania, Robert Malone, of South Point, and Brian (Shelli) Malone, of Ironton; daughter, Cynthia (Earl) Frazier, of South Point; nine grandchildren, Alicia (Bryce) Walters, April Childers, Amanda (George) Forton, Joshua Childers, James (Amanda) Malone, Shane Malone, Christina (Gabriel) Dunfee, Timothy Malone and Brianna Malone; eight great-grandchildren, Hallie Forton, Timothy Childers, Mairen and Adam Forton, Graham Walters, Hunter Malone, Kaycee Malone and Benjamen Dunfee; sister, Diane (Dale) McCall, of Burlington, North Carolina; brother, Stanley Malone, of South Point; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Malone, of Ashland, Kentucky, and Janice Poirier, of Quincy, Massachusetts; and three brothers-in-law, Lindale Childers, of Parigould, Arkansas, and Edgar Gene (Jodi) Childers and Lloyd (Donna) Childers, both of South Point.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Tracy Brammer-Monroe Funeral Home, Ironton, with Brother Aaron Childers officiating. Burial will follow in Woodland Cemetery with military graveside rites. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday at the funeral home. Sharon Latka

March 8, 1948 — Sept. 15, 2018

Sharon “Sis” Kay Latka, 70, of Ironton, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2018, at Heartland of Portsmouth. The Lawrence County native was born March 8, 1948, a daughter of the late Rufus F. Mays and Lorraine Hankins Fields, and her stepfather, Sherman Fields Jr.
Sharon was a 1966 graduate of South Point High School and a member of the Hanging Rock Apostolic Church of God. She was a homemaker and worked many years for Abbott Home Health, where she loved all the patients she cared for over the years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Joseph Latka, who passed away April 1, 2005; a stepdaughter, Theresa Abrams; two sisters, Kelli Runyon and Billi Jo Fields; a stepbrother, Roger Kinney; and a nephew, Jeffrey Gordon Kiser.
She is survived by a son, Jim Jenkins, of Ironton; three granddaughters, Danielle Jenkins, Ashley Baker and Kathleen Baker; a sister, Connie Fields, of Ironton; an aunt, Dorothy Broughton; her stepmother, Audrey Mays; a stepbrother, Anthony Kinney; a very special cousin, Lisa Markel; two special friends, Debbie Bennett and Mark Carmon; and several special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at the Hanging Rock Apostolic Church of God with Elder Glenn Jenkins and Elder John Sturgill officiating. Burial will follow in Hanging Rock Cemetery and visitation will be 3 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the church. Donna Hutchinson

April 16, 1950 — Sept. 17, 2018

Donna Gail Hutchinson, 68, of Pedro, walked into her Heavenly home on Monday, Sept. 17, 2018, at a local health care facility. The Ironton native was born April 16, 1950, a daughter of the late Kathryn Delores Rogers Hutchinson and Leonard Ray “Pat” Hutchinson.
Donna loved her family and never forgot anyone’s birthday. She always had a smile for everyone and loved nothing more than being surrounded by people, and family reunions were days she cherished.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patricia Baker; brother-in-law, Larry Baker; and a nephew, Jayden Lewis.
Donna Gail is survived by a brother, Robert (Ramona) Hutchinson, of Pedro; a sister, Pamela (Joe Jarrels) Lawson, of Franklin Furnace; and several nieces and nephews.

Joretta Horn

June 11, 1942 — Sept. 17, 2018

Joretta J. Horn, 76, of Ironton, passed away at her home Monday, Sept. 17, 2018. She was born June 11, 1942, to the late Ray Holley Sr. and the late Jennie Bell Dickess Holley, and her stepmother, the late Mary June Holley.
She was the widow of Arnold Horn. She was a member of Faith United Nazarene Church.
She is survived by her son, Arnold and Anessa Horn Jr.; son, Gary Horn; daughter, Kirsti Hankins and Karen Clark; grandchildren, Nick Horn, Jackie Farris, Derick Horn, Caleb Horn and Benjamin Hankins; six great-grandchildren; sister, Martha (Mert) and Joseph Smith; sister, Virginia Horn; and brother, Ray Holley Jr.
Visitation will be 11 a.m. Saturday at O’Keefe Baker Funeral Home, Ironton, until the time of the service at 1 p.m. at the funeral home with Beverly Sharp officiating. Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery.
