Panthers benefit alumni
game set for Saturday
The Chesapeake community and former Panthers’ head basketball coach Norm Persin are conducting an alumni basketball event Saturday to benefit former Chesapeake All-Ohio basketball player Anthony Delimpo’s family whose 10-year-old son Levi is suffering from Ewing Sarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer.
The alumni event will be held from 1-4 p.m. at Chesapeake High School.
Admission is $10. There will be refreshments, a silent auction of some great items along with music performed by local artists.

Ironton Hall of Fame
banquet to be Oct. 13
The Ironton High School Athletic Hall of Fame will have its induction dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, in the high school cafeteria.
Tickets for the dinner are $10 for individuals and $15 for couples and can be purchased at the door.
This year’s induction class includes consists of Mandi Boykin, Joe “Bubby” Fletcher, Hal Spears, Keith Stowers and James Taylor.
