An Ironton woman was arrested Thursday on burglary charges.
According to Capt. Joe Ross of Ironton police, Kimberly Griggs, 39, was charged with F-2 burglary after he said she was caught breaking into a residence at 1800 2nd St.
Ross said police arrested Griggs’ boyfriend, Matthew Sean Southers, 43, of Ironton, on Monday.
Ross said the two had taken a leaf blower that was set down by a city work crew and tried to pawn it.
Ross said the item was recovered and that Southers was charged with a misdemeanor theft.
Griggs was taken to county jail.
Ross said Griggs is due in court at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.
“We’d like to thank the public for their information about these incidents,” Ross said. “Without their help, we couldn’t have solved it. We thank them for their observations and reporting to police.”
