Ross said the two had taken a leaf blower that was set down by a city work crew and tried to pawn it.

Ross said the item was recovered and that Southers was charged with a misdemeanor theft.

Griggs was taken to county jail.

Ross said Griggs is due in court at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

“We’d like to thank the public for their information about these incidents,” Ross said. “Without their help, we couldn’t have solved it. We thank them for their observations and reporting to police.”
