BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Isaiah Green threw a 32-yard touchdown pass to Tyre Brady with 1:44 left and gave Marshall a 20-17 win over Western Kentucky in a conference opener Saturday night.
Green threw for 288 yards and two scores — both to Brady — for the Thundering Herd (3-1, 1-0 Conference USA). Brady had eight receptions for 162 yards.
Green connected with Brady early on a 40-yard touchdown on first down after a slow start for both teams. Justin Rohrwasser kicked a 35-yard field goal late in the first half to make it 10-10 at halftime.
That score stood until Rohrwasser’s 21-yard field goal in the fourth quarter moved Marshall in front, 13-10, with 8:39 to play. The Hilltoppers (1-4, 0-1) took a 17-13 lead on an 11-yard Steven Duncan touchdown pass with 6:50 remaining.
Duncan finished with 263 yards and a touchdown passing for Western Kentucky.
