Chesy youth basketball
registration scheduled
The Chesapeake Buddy Basketball will conduct registrations starting this week.
Registration will be held in the middle school cafeteria.
Youths must bring a birth certificate and a parent or guardian.
Registrations are 6-8 p.m. Thursday, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, 6-8 Thursday, Oct. 11, and 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 13.

Ironton Hall of Fame
banquet to be Oct. 13
The Ironton High School Athletic Hall of Fame will have its induction dinner at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 13, in the high school cafeteria.
Tickets for the dinner are $10 for individuals and $15 for couples and can be purchased at the door.
This year’s induction class includes consists of Mandi Boykin, Joe “Bubby” Fletcher, Hal Spears, Keith Stowers and James Taylor.

IHS powder puff game
rescheduled for Oct. 17
The annual Ironton High School benefit Powder Puff football game has been postponed due to the weather and will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 17, at Tanks Memorial Stadium.
The seniors and freshmen will go against the juniors and sophomore in a game sponsored by the IHS student council. Proceeds go to the Christmas food baskets.
Admission price is $3 for adults and $2 for students.
