COAL GROVE — It was variety night for the Coal Grove Lady Hornets.
The Lady Hornets played three different sets as they swept the Rock Hill Redwomen in an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball game on Thursday.
Coal Grove got a routine 25-19 win, rolled to a 25-9 win and then battled to a 26-24 win in the third set.
Kaleigh Murphy led Coal Grove with 13 points including seven aces.
Hailey Booth had 12 points, Mattie Malone four kills and three tip kills while Taylor Reynolds five kills.
Portsmouth gets past Chesapeake
PORTSMOUTH — The Portsmouth Lady Trojans won a titanic battle with the Chesapeake Lady Panthers in an Ohio Valley Conference volleyball game on Thursday.
The Lady Trojans won the game 15-25, 27-25, 18-25, 25-21 and 15-7 in the tiebreaker.
In the jayvee game, Chesapeake won 17-25, 25-22 and 25-14.
