Ohio Department of Transportation (ODOT) District 9 announced that State Route 650 in Lawrence County has been closed at the U.S. 52 overpass at Hanging Rock due to a bridge strike.

The overpass of the bridge of U.S. 52 West was struck by a container truck and, following initial assessments, U.S. 52 remains open to traffic in both directions. Bridge inspectors will be working to further their investigation of the structure.

However, State Route 650 is closed under the bridges due to hanging rebar.

Motorists traveling eastbound on U.S. 52 can exit to State Route 650 South, and westbound U.S. 52 motorists can exit to State Route 52 north.
