Ordinance 18-51, which would set prices for residential septic haulers at $25 for up to 1,000 gallons, $50 for 1,001-2,000 gallons, $75 for 2,001-300 gallons and $100 for more than 3,000 gallons.

For non-residential haulers, it would be $50 for up to 1,000 gallons, $100 for 1,001-2,000 gallons, $150 for 2,001-300 gallons and $200 for more than 3,000 gallons.

At the council meeting on Oct. 26, the ordinance was amended so that for every 1,000 gallons over 3,000 gallons, residents would pay $25 and non-residents would pay $50.

Council was concerned that if they didn’t amend the prices, there would be companies that would be bringing in thousands of gallons of waste and paying only $200.

The other item on the agenda is an ordinance adopting a city budget for 2019.

The council meetings are held in council chambers on the third floor of the Ironton City Center.
