Balance sparks Panthers’ victory

REEDSVILLE — Balance was the key for the Chesapeake Panthers.
Nine different players scored for the Panthers as they breezed past the Reedsville Eastern Eagles 61-34 on Tuesday.
Eli Archer scored a game-high 18 points and Levi Blankenship added 13 points to lead the Panthers (2-0).
Tylan Hutchison and Trent Dearth had six each while Josh Cox and Nathan Cox scored five points apiece.
Garrett Barringer scored 13 points and Colton Reynolds had 12 points for Eastern.
Chesapeake came out roaring by outscoring the Eagles 19-8 in the first quarter by eight points by Archer and five from Blankenship who also had a 3-pointer in his total.
Nathan Cox hit a 3-pointer and scored all five of his points in the second quarter while Blankenship hit another triple and it was 30-19 at the half.
Reynolds hit two 3-pointers and had eight of the Eagles 11 points in the quarter.
The Panthers extended the lead to 41-26 after three quarters as Archer scored seven more points.
Blankenship hit his third 3-pointer and had five points as seven different players scored in the fourth quarter and the Panthers outscored the Eagles 20-8.
The Panthers play Athens at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Big E Classic at Fairland.
